Use Locations when your creative needs a set: a room, an outdoor setting, a real place or a studio backdrop. You can also define how the space sounds, which feeds into video audio.

For related setup tasks, read Create a storyboard and Create clothes and props.

Choose how to start

Start with Use it to
New Build a location with a form, starting from its type
Prompt Create a location from a name and a written description
Library Reuse a location saved to this account, without generating it again
Reference Start from a photo or image URL

Under New or Prompt, choose a location type: Indoor room, Outdoor, Real place (address, city or coordinates) or Studio / abstract.

Create a location

1. Add the location

Choose a starting method and type, enter a Name, and click Add location (or Create location from Prompt).

2. Write the brief

In Prompt, name the place, the key objects and the quality of light. Add Reference images if you have them.

3. Set the room and sound

Choose the Room type, Time of day and Acoustic profile. Turn on Ambient soundscape to feed audio into the video prompt and any connected Soundtrack node.

4. Choose a template and render

Pick a Sheet template (Full set, Establishing or Lighting study), aspect ratio and quality, then generate.

5. Choose the hero image

Open the sheet, click Select hero image, frame the crop, and click Use as hero image.

Example brief:

A lived-in home kitchen with a wooden table, a laptop and a coffee mug, soft morning window light, slightly cluttered like a real store owner’s workspace.

Turn on Use Prompt only to let the prompt alone describe the location, ignoring the form selections.

Reusing a saved location

Choose Library, then Browse library. Search, click Use on the card you want, and it’s added without being regenerated.

Starting from a reference

Choose Reference, then Choose file or paste an image URL and click Upload. Pasted URLs are downloaded and saved to your account first. References don’t fill in place, acoustics or ambience for you, so switch to New to name the location and set those.

Render settings

Choose Aspect ratio (Square 1:1, Landscape 3:2, Portrait 2:3), Quality, Provider and Model. Check the model’s displayed price and reference-image limit. The Quality inside Render model is separate from the one above it.

Review the result

Ctrl-click (Windows) or Cmd-click (Mac) to preview the sheet. Check:

  • Wide establishing: the main objects and light match your brief.
  • Reverse angle: the space stays consistent from the other direction.
  • Detail textures: materials and objects look right up close.
  • Time-of-day lighting: the variation you’ll use matches the brief.

If it needs changes, update the brief or settings and generate again before choosing a hero image.
